Privacy Policy — Pocket Sense — Sensor Toolbox & Sound Meter
The short version
Pocket Sense collects no data. All seven tools run on your device. The app has no INTERNET permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. There is no account, no ads and no analytics.
Data we collect
None. Pocket Sense has:
- No user accounts and no sign-in
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- No ads at all
- No INTERNET permission — there is no network code path in the app for your data to leave by
Microphone and sound measurement
- The microphone permission is used only while you use the Sound Meter. The app analyses the audio stream live, on the device, to compute a sound level in decibels.
- Audio itself is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. If you record a session, only the numbers — decibel readings with timestamps — are saved, never sound.
Location and GPS tools
- The location permission is used only for the GPS Tools screen, and to estimate the compass declination for your area. Coordinates are shown to you, on your device.
- If you record a session, the numeric readings (which may include GPS coordinates and altitude) are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage.
- Location is never transmitted or shared, and is never used for tracking or advertising.
Other sensors
The light, magnetic-field, accelerometer and rotation sensors are read and processed on the device only, to show and record the measurements you ask for.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps the following only on your device, to make the app work:
- Your recorded sessions: numeric sensor readings with timestamps, and session statistics (min / average / max).
- Settings: theme, your calibration offsets and calibration profiles, and whether Pro is unlocked.
This information never leaves your device. It is deleted when you delete the sessions, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
Exports
CSV files are created on your device when you export a session. They go only where you save them, or to the app you choose in the Android share sheet — never to us.
Purchases
If you buy Pocket Sense Pro, the payment is processed by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment details. The app learns from the Play Store on your device whether Pro is owned, so it can unlock it.
Children
Pocket Sense is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It contains no ads and collects no data from anyone, including children.
